Moxy Hotel Cork: A Landmark City Centre Development by Conack

Conack successfully delivered the full design and build of the new Moxy Hotel Cork, a 206-bedroom hotel located in the heart of Cork City. This ambitious seven-storey development was constructed on a tight 0.5-acre site, surrounded by busy urban streets and adjacent residential and commercial buildings.

The structure of Moxy Hotel Cork comprises a reinforced concrete frame set on piled concrete foundations. The building envelope features a mix of high-quality façade treatments, including brickwork, precast concrete, aluminium rainscreen cladding, aluminium windows, and curtain wall glazing—designed to complement the surrounding cityscape.

The project scope included a complete internal fit-out, delivering high-specification guest rooms, a stylish bar and restaurant, meeting rooms, a modern gymnasium, and comprehensive staff welfare and support areas. The development also involved the careful preservation and full restoration of a historic riverside building facing the River Lee. This building, with its ornate plaster detailing, now seamlessly integrates into the modern design, celebrating both Cork’s heritage and its forward-looking hospitality sector.

Despite site constraints and the complexity of working in a live urban environment, Conack’s team delivered the project efficiently, to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Moxy Hotel now stands as a bold new addition to Cork’s hospitality landscape, offering visitors a vibrant, city-centre experience.
