Conack demonstrate enhanced stakeholder collaboration through BIM certification
Overview
Conack recognises the importance of continuous improvement, reflected by its certification across various ISO management system standards. Through achieving the ISO 19650-2:2018 certification from BRE, Conack has independently demonstrated their commitment to enhanced collaboration and communication among stakeholders.

Challenges
BIM development in Ireland is growing rapidly and the Irish BIM mandate, due to be fully implemented by 1 January 2028, includes BIM requirements in every public sector construction project.
Best-practice has been at Conack’s heart for many years, as is demonstrated by the organisation’s certification to a range of ISO management system standards. Their forward-thinking nature, and organisational growth plans, led them to realise that the implementation of a BIM standard was a “must have” to futureproof their company, and demonstrate commitment to efficient, standardised, and high-quality BIM implementation.
Benefits
ISO 19650-2:2018 is a BIM certification which was developed to enable consistent information management worldwide. BRE’s BIM Certification for Businesses was an ideal way for Conack to credibly verify its BIM credentials, ensure better project outcomes, and support achievement of its long-term sustainability goals.
What was done
Conack had no previous experience with ISO 19650-2:2018 and chose to work with BRE as an organisation with world-leading expertise across the built-environment. The process began with an initial pre-assessment, which involved a gap analysis of their existing processes and procedures against the requirements of the standard, prior to formally applying for certification.
Following on from this, Conack underwent the full certification process, consisting of four steps: Application, Desktop Assessment, Onsite assessment, and Certification. BRE’s project teams supported Conack throughout the certification process, engaging with stakeholders across the organisation to explain the requirements and benefits of successful certification. Conack were particularly impressed by the dedication and competency of BRE’s dedicated BIM auditors.
Project outcome
BRE delivers innovative and rigorous products, services, standards and qualifications across a range of industries, working with a range of different organisations. This breadth of expertise provided Conack with the confidence that BRE were best suited to partner with for ISO 19650-2:2018 certification. Following a thorough process, the certification journey was completed successful in February 2025.
Next steps
ISO 19650-2:2018 certification means that Conack will be subject to ongoing audits, ensuring that their quality is maintained and regularly confirmed. Conack look forward to working with BRE, and their dedicated BIM auditors, going forward.
