Engineering Students from UCC and MTU Visit Marina Depot Project in Cork

Conack was delighted to welcome students and lecturers from University College Cork (UCC) and Munster Technological University (MTU) to our Marina Depot project in Cork last week.

More than 50 fourth-year civil engineering students took part in the visit, hosted by DBFL Engineers with support from Conack’s Adrian McGrath, Aaron Donovan, David Gallagher, and Kim Jacobsen.

The visit provided students with valuable first-hand insight into a live construction project, allowing them to see how engineering principles are applied on site. It also offered an opportunity to discuss the design and delivery process, from planning and safety to sustainability and collaboration.

Conack was pleased to receive excellent feedback from both groups, with students showing great enthusiasm and interest throughout the tour. Engagements like this are a key part of our commitment to supporting future generations of engineers and construction professionals, helping bridge the gap between academic learning and practical experience.
